Fresh Water vs. Salt Water

A divided heart can’t produce a faithful life. This post explores Jesus’ warning about fresh water and salt water, revealing how what flows from us exposes what rules within us, and why true transformation begins at the source, not the surface.

Fresh Water vs. Salt Water

Neil Williams said the difference between idols and Christ is like the difference between drinking salt water and drinking fresh water.

Salt water looks good.
Feels good.
Feels like it will help you.

But the more you drink,

the thirstier and weaker you become.

Fresh water, on the other hand, living water is Jesus Christ.
Only He satisfies.
Only He transforms.
Only He quenches the deep thirst of the soul.

Idols demand everything and give nothing.
Christ gave everything and demands only your heart.

And there’s only one way to change at the heart level:

You must replace your idols with the worship of the One True God.

So choose well.
Choose wisely.
Choose Christ every day, every moment, every decision.

May He sit on the only throne large enough, holy enough, and worthy enough for your heart.
